Dr. Williams was trained as ecological biogeographer, and is currently a research associate for the Wallace Chair of Sustainable Agriculture at Iowa State University.  She is interested in human-environment interacations, and transdisciplinary approaches to problem-framing and co-production of knowledge.  Dr. Williams is the coordinator of the Summit for Visioning Iowa's Future Agriculture, a state-level collaborative project for building community and communication among diverse stakeholders in Iowa's agricultural realm.  Dr. Williams' published research covers a range of topics including invasive species, agro-ecological zoning, and crop-environment relationships.  Her publications include articles in Forest Ecology and Mangement, Biological Invasions, Agriculture Ecosystems and Environment, and Crop Science.  She received her M.A. in Geography from the University of Cincinnati, and her Ph.D. in Geography from Southern Illinois University.  She has taught courses in ecology, biogeography, physical geography, and economic geography at Southern Illinois University, and University of North Carolina – Wilmington.
